Pterodactyl | From the blog of Nicholas C. Rossis, author of science fiction, the Pearseus epic fantasy series and children's books

You may have noticed I’ve been unusually silent in the past few days. The reason is that I took a much-needed break to a nearby island, Evia. However, it turned out I had accidentally stumbled upon the land that time forgot: no Internet anywhere—including our hotel and the one café in the area—and a very spotty cell connection that made receiving emails almost impossible.

So, there was nothing left to do but go to the beach, where the strong winds made me wish I was kite surfing. The only other people around were grandmothers holding meatball-filled Tupperware and chasing kids who were too busy splashing in the sea to eat. A scene straight out of my childhood; so much so that I half-expected a pterodactyl to screech down from the skies (yes, I’m that old). Mercifully, we only got a flock of seagulls.

Anyway, we’re now back so we can get some proper sleep (sleeping with a toddler is never good for you) and run our washing machine to death with all the washing up we need to do. Here are some photos to get you in the mood:
