- The Color Thesaurus | Barbara Pyett - […] The Color Thesaurus. Having read this post, it reminded me of my mother-in-law, Margaret, who thought she knew everything…
And then, there is that odd cross of a color between mustard and tobacco my husband calls “baby poop”…..good resource and nice to look at the colors and names. Being a lover of green, I looked for my favorite, celadon and the runner up, celery.
Lol – We should definitely add baby poop to the list π
Thanks Ingrid and Nicholas for sharing this creative information. π
A pleasure π
Thanks for sharing this Nicholas. This is a a fantastic idea for anyone who writes anything – from a school essay to a book to an email. I’m going to start making these for the boring words I commonly use. Now just to find the time.
Oh, aye, I’ve heard of this “time” thing you mention… π

Thank YOU for this post. I loved it.
As a typical male, I struggle with colors, so I had to share when I found this π
Believe me, female writers also struggle with color names, mainly when English is the second language. LOL
This is fan-tab-u-lous! Thank you for doing the legwork. <3
Now you know why I had to share π
