I used the expression Flame Wars with a friend, and she confessed to be unfamiliar with the term. As a service to my friends, here is the definition:
An argument between Internet users who repeatedly provoke each other with personal attacks through e-mail, comments, and other forms of online communication.
As they say, though, an image is worth a thousand words. Especially if it’s Dilbert.
The one thing to remember when it comes to flame wars, of course, is never to engage Hitler. That guy is the worst.
In other news, I am waiting for Amazon to finish publishing Infinite Waters. It would have been ready since yesterday, but I decided to throw in an extra story (“The Things We Do For Lust”) at the last minute. You can already see the book on Amazon, but buy it tomorrow, to make sure it includes the extra story!
Congrats on your book. I’ve never heard of the term “Flame Wars”.
Thanks! Glad to be of service 🙂
Haha, I didn’t know the term either. Thanks for the knowledge. And the comics! 😉
They’re pretty great, aren’t they? 😀
Yes!
Something new for me, too, Nicholas. Maybe “flame” wars because it burns up the lines? Thankfully, I’ve never been engaged in one!
I hadn’t thought of that possibility! Perhaps 🙂
I’ve never heard the term flame war before. So today I’ve learned something. 🙂 I love the Hitler cartoon. 😀
It’s brilliant, isn’t it? 😀
Good to know about Flame Wars! You are a “wealth” of information! Things I should know about, just in case! Christine
Lol – thank you, Christine 🙂
I am learning something new every day.
Hope your book launch goes well. And hoping for the best re: the economic situation there.
Many thanks for that 🙂
Congrats on the new story collection – that’s exciting!
Thanks for the tips on Flame Wars. ‘Do not engage Hitler’ — right, noted. 😉
Yep. Hitler’s just awful to talk to.
A new term for me too. I like it. It has troll attitude.
Good luck with the book!
Thanks for the grins. What would we do indeed? Congrats on Infinite Waters!
Thanks! 🙂
That second comic is so true. Hitler is a bastard when it comes to flame wars. Only way to get to him is saying his art sucks.
ROFL 😀
I’ve never heard the term either. What would we do without you?
Lol – probably more writing 😀
Thank you sensei,I too had no idea what flame wars was though it did leave a lot to the imagination.
Hugs
Lol – a pleasure, grasshopper 😀
I had no idea what a ‘Flame War’ was Nicholas, so thanks for enlightening me.
(And good luck with the book!)
Best wishes, Pete.
Lol – It’s what I’m here for 😀
Thanks! 🙂
