Apologies for the brief hiatus. My dad passed last week from a sudden heart attack. He was on his feet until the very last moment, and we’re grateful for that. Still, the shock was great.
He left no will, so my mom and I now have to go through a small forest of red tape to sort out everything. I’m afraid that between this and work I will have very little time for my blog for a few days but hope to emerge triumphant from said forest within a week or so.
Until then, thank you for your patience!
So sorry for your loss, Nicholas. Sending love and light to you and your family. Take good care of yourselves and each other. <3
Thank you so much, D!
Can you please let me know if you find I’ve ‘unsubscribed’ to your blog please. Of course, I didn’t, but gmail has been giving me grief (along with WP and FB, lol) I might have clicked it by accident. Thank you and sorry. π
Done! An email was just sent to confirm your subscription, so you’ll need to activate it. Thank you, Debbie π
Condolences, Nicholas. Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.

Thank you so much, Elle! Got your email, too, but haven’t had a chance to respond yet. It’s much appreciated!
Sorry for your lost !
Stay strong!
Thank you so much, Angela! I will π
I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope that you are able to take all of the time you need to get things sorted out- it is a lot, especially at an emotional time.
I’ll be praying for peace for your family.
Thank you for the prayers, Anne! They’re much appreciated. I’m afraid I haven’t been able to take any time off yet but we’ll see. I hope I can do it, even if it’s just for a long weekend.
Today is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. Your picture reminds me that we are so fortunate to live in a time where photographs capture special memories. A boy and his proud father with all the possibilities of a wonderful relationship ahead of you both. What a great way to remember your Dad.
Thank you, Veronica! I recently had it colorized using a free online software. I need to post about it soon.
Commiserations. There are more important things in this life (and beyond) than getting a blog out on time. (I hold this as an article of faith.)
Thank you, Cathy!
I am heartbroken to hear about your father’s passing, my friend. As you know, I lost my mother earlier this year. I know how it feels, and I hope you will find consolation in the thought that your father died ‘strong on his feet’ without any long-going suffering beforehand. The loss becomes easier with time… Hang in there. Believe it or not, the awful red tape is a blessing, being a distraction, and it also helps for the loss to settle inside. I am still dealing with notaries and accountants and it’s been 8 months (exactly today actually). I hope your red tape turmoil ends sooner. Your mother will need a lot of emotional support, undoubtedly… Spending time with her to just be (words are not always necessary or expected) will help you too to deal with your own bereavement. Sending you hugs and heartfelt condolences. I am here anytime if you want to talk, just call me…
Thank you so much, Fros! You’re right, we’ve been on the phone with my mom all the time. You dad is blessed indeed to have you live right next to him!
You don’t need to apologise for that.
Take as long as you think you need plus a little bit extra.
Thank you so much, Dave!
So sorry to hear this. Even when it’s planned and there is a will, dieing seems to be an awfully complicated business.
Thinking of you.
MTM
