Thank you, Olivia! These are pretty technical, mind you, so you may want to start with this one: https://wp.me/p6TDSX-2×6
Hi Nicholas,
I have a question and I hope you don’t mind me asking it here. I’m now using Machete with my keyword marketing campaign and like you, I have seen a small boost in my sales. My question relates to the “Bid Optimizer”. There is an option to target ACOS percent or sales per day. By default, the ACOS is 70% and the sales per day are $70. I noticed if you lower the ACOS you also lower the sales per day. Help me understand how I should set this to maximize this tool. In past post, I always thought you said you should aim for an ACOS below 50% (the lower percent the better). In this case, lowering the target ACOS also lowers the sales per day. What am I getting wrong here? Thank you for your help.
Optimizing your ACoS is a post on its own. Basically, you should first aim at the break-even point. For most of the time, this was around 70% for me. Last month, however, AMS reporting was much improved to the point that it correlated almost to the cent with my actual earnings. This means my break-even ACoS was 100% for last month.
Once you have established and reached your break-even point, that’s when you start tweaking to reach your target ACoS. How low this is, depends solely on you, as our “products” don’t have any other costs such as p&p.
I hope this makes sense!
Thank you, Nicholas,
Yes, it helps somewhat, but I’m going to look back at some of your previous posts to get a fuller understanding.
