It’s truly like a medicine. I don’t see why people don’t read more.
True. I can think of two reasons, actually: TV is easier, and the fact that many people are forced to read boring material at school, so they grow to hate reading.
The fact that school makes young people hate to read is an issue her too…
Is Zazzle the only place to get this?
Erm… I’m afraid I don’t know π
This is a quality piece of work! It’s beautiful!
Couldn’t agree more, Steve π
Fantastic info, this is really precious. Thank you for sharing π
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it π
I love this infographic. So, if I read while sipping tea while walking on the treadmill with music playing in the background, I must be very healthy.
Ha ha – yes, quite! Not to mention, you may be Wonder Woman π
Wow! I don’t usually like infographics, but this one is beautiful, a lovingly crafted work of art that I can make an exception for! ??
π
That is a beautiful infographic. I feel so much calmer just reading it π
Lol – see? Reading works as advertised π
LOVE this chart, Nicholas! Thanks for sharing…I have taught adult ESL for many years and can truly attest to the fact that those who read English outside the classroom ended doing so much better than those who did not.
Hear hear! π
Fascinating infograph. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Sue! Glad you enjoyed it π
Thanks for sharing interesting and informative information!
Glad you enjoyed it π
I identified with a lot of the facts here too.Until I got to the bit about divorce. I have had two divorces, both at times when I was reading more than I ever do now.
Perhaps they grew tired of seeing my head in a book!
I enjoyed this one, Nicholas. Hope your new book is selling well.
Best wishes, Pete.
Oh my! That’s statistics for you π
So far, so good! It’s been at the top 100,000 (paid) books every day so far, even reaching as high as 40,000 – thanks to wonderful people like you π
Great news, Nicholas. I hope it carries on selling well. As soon as I get the chance to read it, I will submit a review.
That is so kind of you; thank you!
I have no illusions that it will carry on like that forever, but it’s fun while it lasts. Besides, I’ve already written the first 3 stories for the next collection π
Great post – I’ve known that reading is good for you for some time and it is has always been my go to as a stress reliever since I was a young girl. Being a reader has also helped in the volunteer work I do – I teach English to new migrants and refugees in the town where I live π
That is such a wonderful thing to do! I’ve also taught migrants and refugees (although it was for computer skills), and it was among the most rewarding things I’ve ever done π
It is very rewarding and so much fun – at the moment I am teaching a young couple from Colombia and they are delightful π
