Congratulations, Nicholas! What a wonderful Christmas gift for you both 😀
Indeed it is! Thanks 🙂
Omg how exciting!! Congrats!! The world needs more minds like yours!! Also love the video game image welcome- hehe!
Aw, that’s so sweet of you; thank you! Yes, the missus and I are now debating whether the wee one will win a Pulitzer or a Nobel prize first (yes, it will obviously be both; it’s just the order we’re unsure of). So far, she winning, as she argues that Mary Natalie can write a book about her experience winning a Nobel prize. Hmm…
How wonderful, Nicholas! Congratulations to all of you! 🙂 — Suzanne
Thank you so much, Suzanne! 🙂

Thank you so much, Patrick! Yes, it turns out the doctor was right. Those were her fingers, after all. At least so far… *ominous music*
How thrilling! Congratulations, Nicholas, and to Electra and Marie Nathalie, too! Let me recommend The Happiest Baby on the Block (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/132900.The_Happiest_Baby_on_the_Block) and Secrets of the Baby Whisperer (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/132902.Secrets_of_the_Baby_Whisperer). My customers swear by them.
Wow, that’s actually very useful. Thank you! 🙂
Oh, and I love her name! Hope you are all well 🙂
Thank you so much, Helen! We’re all fine, if tired 🙂
Yes, welcome to tired. I’m afraid you’ll be there for a while 🙂 Glad to hear all is well x
Love this! So pleased for you all – congratulations! xx
Thank you, John 🙂
Congratulations, Nicholas. Now get some sleep while you can!
As they’re still at the hospital, I’m just up from an afternoon nap. I’m obviously taking your advice to heart 😀
Great stuff! And what a great way to make the announcement ??
Lol – thanks. Make it in style, right? 🙂
Well done. I know how tired and emotional it is to become a dad. So feet up, nice glass of something and take it easy. Oh and best to mother and babe of course….
Thanks! Feet ache, as does the back. I’m barely one day into the role and already falling apart. Hmm…
I know people don’t understand the make strain!
I know. Only one person (out of roughly a hundred phone calls) has asked me how I was. Everyone’s like, “how’s the mother?” 🙂
Oh how wonderful, Nick! Congratulations! And welcome, Little One! I didn’t realise she was going to be a Christmas baby… all my three are too, especially Carys, she was born on December 22nd. Such lovely news to start the day! ????
Thank you so much, Ali! Yes, a Christmas gift alright 🙂
Congratulations to both you and Electra 😀 May you both find parenting a joyful – ocassionally difficult and tiring but, oh so, infinitely rewarding – experience. And may I say, what a pretty name you both have chosen for her 😀
What a lovely comment! Thank you 🙂
How wonderful! Congratulations. We expect photos soon.
I’ll be happy to oblige 🙂
Congratulations! Wonderful news!
Thank you so much 🙂
Oh, I’m so thrilled for you and Electra! Yay. Many hugs to all three of you. The journey of parenthood begins – enjoy the amazing ride. Welcome to the world, Marie-Nathalie <3
On her behalf, thank you 🙂
Bless the sweet wee girl. Congrats to Mom and Dad, and of course, to Marie Natalie. <3 <3 <3
Thank you so much! 🙂
You are more than welcome. 🙂
Congratulations! Wishing all of you the best.
Thank you so much, W 🙂
Congratulations Nicholas & Electra! Best Wishes with your new baby girl Marie-Nathlie! I’ll add her name to the Sunset Page & post. ? Chryssa
Yay! Thank you. I’m sure she’ll enjoy that, when she grows up and I tell her all about auntie Chryssa 🙂
Well done Nicolas! May your new daughter bring you much joy.
What a lovely wish. Thank you 🙂
Fabulous news! Congratulations.
Thank you so much, JP 🙂
Congrats and have fun with the new adventure. You’ll do great. 🙂
Thanks, buddy! If I do half as well as you, I know I’ll be great 🙂
I’d give advice, but only thing I learned is every child has been designed to make every piece of advice moot. It’s like they have minds of their own or something. 🙂
Tell me about it.
When I tried to get the wee one’s first picture, she had her hands over her face, so I gently pushed them down. She let out an annoyed cry and pushed my finger away, then promptly raised her fists back over her face.
This, barely 2 hours into the world.
The nurse who brought her to us described her as “defiant but calm.” I now see what she meant, and weep for the future…
My son freaked out a nurse within minutes of being born. They give babies a Vitamin K shot and she was approaching with the needle. He suddenly looked at her and reached for the needle, which startled her. It was very exact and specific. Babies aren’t supposed to do that, so we’re not sure what exactly happened. Still she gave him the shot, he scowled, and then he did a precise pee off the table to get the nurse. Ah, the first year stories.
Be thankful for the calm part. Might mean you can reason with her. Also remember that she’s portable. Always take advantage of the fact that you can carry your kid when they’re being defiant.
Lol – I’ll keep it in mind. Great story with the nurse. Ours is a girl, of course, so I’m not sure how far she can aim 😉
Means you don’t have to worry about the fire hose effect. I’m sure she’ll find ways to drive you crazy and make it feel like every other day is laundry day. 🙂
Ha ha – I’ll bet she does 😀
Though I recommend having cloth diapers over your shoulders when burping. Those things were great. (Might have mentioned that already.)
Yep. We’ve now got enough of them to burp a small army.
So that’ll cover a week. 😉
My warmest congratulations, and best wishes to the three of you from England.
(Great video game graphic too!)
Regards from Norfolk. Pete.
Thank you so much, Pete! Glad you liked the image. I found the original online and edited it to match our, erm, circumstances 🙂
Aww…how wonderful! Beautiful name, too. Best to you and Electra.
Thanks! Glad you liked the name, but if you use it in any of your books, please let the character survive 😀
Many Congratulations to you both Nicholas. I hope Electra and baby are doing well.
Never mind the writing for now, practice the reading aloud skills because you’ll be doing a lot of that.
Lol – absolutely 😀
Congratulations, Nicholas! I trust mama and babe are both doing well. What a great Christmas gift!
Isn’t it just? And yes, thank you. They’re both fine – if exhausted 🙂
Congratulations, I hope you’re taking it easy after the birth. I remember how hard is was as a father myself 😉
Thanks! So far, so good. Then again, it’s been less than 24 hours 😀
Fantastic News! An early Christmas present at this most appropriate time of the year! All the most joyous best to you three. Wonderful and a duplicate Nicholas. Its always good to have a spare.
Ha ha – absolutely. And yes, she is the spitting image of me. Which is a shame, really, as Electra’s so much prettier than me 😀
Warmest congratulations to you and Electra, Nicholas!
Thank you so much, Sue 🙂
Wonderful news! How’s Electra feeling?
Exhausted. Ecstatic. And every feeling in between 🙂
Congratulations! I’ve got a Natalie Charlotte who’s now approaching her 16th Christmas. Time flies…!
Oh, wow! It sure does 🙂
Thank you! Finally, someone to read Roxy to…
I think she will prefer ‘Writing Club’ 🙂
Ah, a chip off the ol’ block, huh? Here’s to hoping! 😀
