From the blog of Nicholas C. Rossis, author of science fiction, the Pearseus epic fantasy series and children's books

My author friend C.S. Boyack is launching his first collection of short stories, called The Experimental Notebook of C. S. Boyack. This is a project that has special meaning for me, as you will see.

Craig has sent his spokesmodel, Lisa Burton, around to do guest posts. Apparently, it’s part of her job to help out with book promotions. For those unfamiliar with Lisa, she is a robot, and the main character in Craig’s first novel, Wild Concept. She works as his assistant at the writing cabin these days, and is also the official spokesmodel for his blog, Entertaining Stories.

The Experimental Notebook of C. S. Boyack

From the blog of Nicholas C. Rossis, author of science fiction, the Pearseus epic fantasy series and children's booksHi, Nicholas, thanks for inviting me over today. I’ve never been to Greece before, and it’s very pretty here. I asked Craig’s Muse if she wanted to do this stop, but she isn’t too fond of promotion. She’s more into inspiration.

Craig has a new book out, and it’s available for pre-order right now on Amazon. It’s called The Experimental Notebook of C. S. Boyack. It is a collection of short stories and micro-fiction that you inspired. Craig read The Power of Six and liked it so much he wanted to do something similar.

Craig calls himself a speculative fiction author, and dabbles in all the sub-genres. This book includes some fantasy, some paranormal stuff, and some science fiction. As a robot girl, I’m really into science fiction.

It doesn’t look like I’m ever going to get a sequel, but Craig give me a short story in “Notebook.” There are other fun tales in here too, including a fantasy called The Soup Ladle of Destiny. These stories can all be read in one sitting, and that’s part of their charm. They work well on a commuter bus, or a coffee break.

As the blog’s official spokesmodel, I have some artwork for Craig’s releases. This one is me with a biplane that appears in one of the stories. It’s one of the last U.S. Military biplanes ever used. I hope your fans like it. I got to keep the outfit, and love the boots and jacket. This story is one of the paranormal pieces called Something in the Water.

As I said before, the book is available for pre-order right now on Amazon. The copies will be delivered on September 15th. Not only do you get a dozen or so stories for 99¢, you also get a free sample of Will O’ the Wisp, just in time for Halloween.

It’s Craig’s hope that readers will take a chance on Notebook for 99¢. If they like it, they might check out some of his novels.

Craig’s Muse, Lorelei, sends him tons of ideas. They can’t all carry a novel, but it feels wrong to discard a divine gift. He started writing them as short stories and stashing them away. When he saw The Power of Six, he got really excited. We really hope your readers enjoy these stories too.

Word from the advance readers was all positive. It is a good sign that every story in this book was someone’s favorite one.

Thank you so much for inviting me over today. If you ever need Craig’s blog space for one of your promotions, it’s always available.

C.S. Boyack In His Own Words

From the blog of Nicholas C. Rossis, author of science fiction, the Pearseus epic fantasy series and children's booksI was born in a town called Elko, Nevada. I like to tell everyone I was born in a small town in the 1940s. I’m not quite that old, but Elko has always been a little behind the times. This gives me a unique perspective of earlier times, and other ways of getting by. Some of this bleeds through into my fiction.

I moved to Idaho right after the turn of the century, and never looked back. My writing career was born here, with access to other writers and critique groups I jumped in with both feet.

I like to write about things that have something unusual. My works are in the realm of science fiction, paranormal, and fantasy. The goal is to entertain you for a few hours. I hope you enjoy the ride.
