Remember how I mentioned that I’m redesigning all of of my book covers? Today, I can share with you the new cover for The Power of Six: 6+1 short science fiction stories. The redesign has been by the very talented Alexios Saskalidis of 187designz.
Buy The Power of Six on Amazon
Even more exciting, however, is the new cover for Infinite Waters; my latest collection of short stories. Also designed by 187designz, its design is in the same spirit as The Power of Six, to indicate the relationship between the two:
Infinite Waters will be released on July 7th.
Do let me know what you think of the new covers in the comments below. Unless you hate them. Then… erm… oh, what the heck, even then! Or, you can rate them on ratebookcover.com:
Oh, and if you’re interested in an advance review copy (ARC) of Infinite Waters, just leave a comment or contact me, and I’ll be more than happy to send you a free copy!
I agree with the above. Awesome covers.
Thank you so much 🙂
Best to you and many sells.
Awesome covers, Nicholas! They work really well. 😀
Thank you so much; I’m really glad to hear that! 😀

Nicholas, Love the covers! Both got a 5 star from me. Those Aegean colors blue & green, favorites! Plus they are a thunderbolt of sci-fi power! I have the ARC Infinite Waters. The Power of Six is available on Kindle Unlimited. No paperbacks. I’ll have to figure out how to get the Power of Six…maybe on Cloud Reader. I see you’ve been viewing Sacha Black’s The Bloggers Bash Awards 2015 post. I know you’ve been nominated for one, but there’s another nomination just entered…from me…The Most Inspiring Blogger Award! I’ll let you go there to read it all. Just a thank you here for inspiring me to continue blogging and support fellow bloggers (as you do). Not to forget for inspiring me to read (and like) Sci-Fi. Christine
That’s so sweet of you; thank you!! 🙂
Fabulous covers! The original cover was awesome, but these are gorgeous. I love the way the books are tied together with the book covers.
Thank you!! 🙂
The new covers look great! You must be so pleased with them. I keep meaning to try that ratemycover site but have been too chicken to do so 🙂
Lol – I understand what you mean 😀
I like the connecting themes …. very cool! 😀
Thank you so much! 🙂
I love the new covers! 🙂 You’re so talented!
Thank you so much, but the credit belongs to Alexios 🙂
It’s so funny you post this, because I was just on that site to get the address for a friend and saw your new cover for The Power of Six. Of course I gave it 5 stars. It’s awesome, Nicholas!!! And so is Infinate Waters. I’ll jump back to vote on that too.
Lol – thank you so much!! 😀
Very professional and bookstore worthy!
Thank you, so glad to hear that! 🙂
Two very strong covers. And according to Book Bud’s post that’s what makes all the difference. Good luck, Nicholas.
Thank you so much, Juliet! 🙂
Love the new covers, Nicholas – very eye-catching and in sync with the genre!
That’s so good to hear! Thank you, bro! 🙂
I like both of those very much!
Thank you! 🙂
Those look really good. I’ve been watching for the second book, and you inspired me to write my own book of shorts. I’ll buy a copy as soon as you let us know. It makes the reviews look that much sweeter.
Yay, I’m so glad that I inspired you in this! 🙂
I’ll be happy to mail you a free copy, but more than appreciate the kindness 🙂
I’ve been having so much fun reading short stories and micro fiction, and it’s all because of your book. I seek it out now. It seems like a good stepping stone into our longer works, and I couldn’t resist.
Woo hoo – best comment ever 😀
Stunning covers. I love how they fit together. I see a “set” coming together – with more to come hopefully.
Aw, that’s so sweet! Thank you – and let me know if you’d like an ARC 🙂
You already sent it to me and I already read it! I’ll post an honest review as soon as it’s live 😀
*whispers* I know, I was trying to encourage others to ask for an ARC 😀
Oops. We’ll I’ll just point out then, that it was a fun read!
Yay! Thanks 🙂
Love them both! They definitely convey the genre, and the orb, hands and colours have impact. Great job.
So glad to hear that; thank you! 🙂
Absolutely perfect. Much more contemporary. Looks more like sci-fi than a spiritual self-help book. Honestly, that’s what I thought your book was about months ago when I clicked on your page and saw it for the very first time. I think it was the body figure and a title that sounded like empowerment that gave me that initial impression.
Lol – you really should let me know these things! 😀
Very cool. The energy orbs are very eye-catching. There’s also a creepiness to the second one that makes me curious.
Funny you should say that, as Infinite Waters is definitely creepier.
Very curious now.
Superb covers!
I’m so glad you think so! Thank you 🙂
🙂
I like the previous ones, but these are much more powerful. 😀 😀
So good to hear that! Thank you 🙂
You are more than welcome, Nicholas. 🙂
They both look fabulous and are highly recognisable. Good luck Nicholas!
Thank you so much, Olga! 🙂
Nicholas!! What stunning covers! I gave them both a 5, this guy, Alex is a star. I’ll contact you to talk, I need this guy for my fantasy! Especially the cover for Infinite Waters is phenomenal. In my 30s I used to subscribe to an awesome Greek magazine called Strange (conspiracy theories, aliens, all sorts of weird stuff and I devoured it). Well, your cover looks like one of those magazine covers that had me salivating once a month! Same concept, same colors, same kind of image. WELL DONE! Please send an ARC my way, I can’t wait!
Lol – thank you! I’m so glad you like them. Next time I visit you, I’ll have to take a look at those mags of yours, if you have any lying around 🙂
Consider it sent – and thank you! 🙂
Sure, I’ve kept them all, they are stacked on my bookshelf. Too precious to throw away! I devour this kind of stuff. You’re welcome to take a look anytime 🙂

Okay, so I might have a slight obsession with hands, but nevertheless, these new covers for Nicholas C. Rossis’ short story collections are fabulous. Check them out 😀
The covers look great, really eye catching and I love the theme 😀
Thank you! The whole point was because of the main story, which is an author going to the carnival for inspiration. The man there produces a crystal ball, allowing her to see the stories inside 🙂
That’s wonderful! I want a crystal ball…and a copy of the book *dashes off to Amazon*…
Lol – I’ll be more than happy to send you an ARC! Look for it in your mail 🙂
I love both of them. They’re 100% professional-looking which is paramount, but also have a timeless feel that’s instantly recognisable. The cover for The Power of Six in your sidebar seems more dated now that you have a shiny new one 😉
Lol – point taken. I’ll change that shortly 🙂
What would you do without me annoying you?!
A cold, sad, tea-less existence would await me, surely. I shudder at the mere thought.
I agree that the new covers have a real ‘series’ feel to them, and could become a style that’s associated with your books. The previous cover was good, but these harp back to the 80s ‘bookshop’ feel, with a big impact on the potential buyer.
Nice work.
Best wishes, Pete.
Ah, I hadn’t realized that, but now that you mention it, I can see what you mean. Thanks for that! 🙂
Your covers are amazing, Nicholas. Reminds me to the X-Files, one of my favorite series in the 90s.
What a lovely association! Let’s hope they meet with similar success 😀
I guess Greece would appreciate it these days even more! Just make sure the leave something for you.
Lol – it’s like we live in a Monty Python sketch around here 😀
That’s a good comparison. I am glad you are keeping your ironic humor. Let’s see what the EU will do now.
There’s only so much anyone can do to help someone who won’t help themselves.
That is the sad reality! You see that pretty clear!
They’re quite spectacular. They’d look very at home in a bookshop top ten display.
Lol – that’s such a sweet thing to say! Thank you 🙂
Welcome
I like the covers. The balls of light are certainly related, so it shows what you were going for.
Thank you! In truth, they were both based on two drafts that Alexios sent me. I liked them so much, that I decided to use them both 🙂
I like the new covers! Very SF, pro and catchy. Would definitely check the books out even though they are a bit too modern for my style (but you know me. I’m old school). If I have a printed version of the power of six I’d rather have it with the first cover. But I think people will prefer the new ones.
In that case, I have a copy with your name on it. Now that the cover has changed, it will soon be a collectors’ item 😉
WOOT!!! I didn’t know you had a hard copy of it! I’m so happy right now!
That’s what you get for disappearing on us 😉
(Although we’re just as guilty of that, so…)
Great covers, both of them! A real SF feel to them.
Oooh, that’s perfect! I’m glad to hear it 🙂
Like them very much. Very clean and “powerful!”
Thank you! I’m really glad you like them 🙂
Got one word for the new covers: AWESOME!!!!! 🙂
Woo hoo – thank you!
Hey, I emailed you an ARC of Infinite Waters the other day, but never heard back. Have you received it?
Sorry about that – I’ve been a little busy helping my daughter prepare to sit her driving test – I did get a copy of Infinite Waters and I really appreciate it so much 🙂
Thanks! Best of luck with her exams! 🙂
I liked the original but this is better. Nice match between the two 🙂
Thanks! I, too, am very fond of the original, but it seemed silly to change just one and not the other.
VERY nice new covers! Very professional looking.
Thank you, I’m so glad you like them 🙂
