olden Caulfield from The Catcher in the RyeI don’t usually spend a lot of time on Facebook; I think that, although I was posting things there, I felt I was probably not doing something right (which is a euphemism for saying that I probably did so many things wrong, that I didn’t realize how wrong I was!)  Anyway, the point is that, as far as books are concerned, Facebook and I are going through a cordial but not very passionate relationship.

However, I stumbled upon Bookriot’s 10 Literary Facebook Pages you should Like, which made me rethink my attitude.  I knew quite a few of these pages (although I had not visited their Facebook editions), but was oblivious of others, like the Book Week Scotland – shame on me, too, after all those years in Edinburgh!  And yes, I did take the Who in Fiction are you quiz (FYI, I am Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye).

I also enjoyed the Poetry Foundation and Poetry Magazine.  I’m not really one for poetry; still, I like the fact that people enjoying it have their own space to do so. Kinda like Borges said: “let there be heaven, even though my residing place be in hell”. I just want to know that there is a poetry Facebook page even if I don’t visit it.

I have to say, it was a pleasant surprise to find so many nice sites and pages out there, because it shows how many people care about writing, reading and sharing their passion with others!
