New York Public LibraryI read this today and it felt good.  And I had to share the goodness.

We live in an era where rich people try to help out through charities, philanthropy, fighting disease, helping the poor and so many other worthwhile causes.  I like that.  I like the idea that whenever people can, they help.  Obviously, there are many rich people who could do much more: but I am grateful that there are enough people who are helping others (I have always been a supporter of ‘good enough’ rather than ‘perfect’).  It doesn’t matter how much they can afford, they just help.

In fact, when I first started writing, I was surprised at how much the author community was helpful: people gave me ideas, tips, offered to become beta-readers and promote my book and so many other nice gestures.

The librarians at the New York Public Library felt that the donation was “a plot twist equal to a classic mystery novel”.  It was unexpected, but so welcome.  And I think this is what makes the best in people: they can always amaze us in such a good way!

I found the article from The Guardian.  And it made my day!
