You may remember my recent post, Help Needed: Nominate Runaway Smile for the Best Indie Book of 2015. You very kindly responded to my request, and nominated my work. In total, over 10,000 books were nominated this year, and now the results are in.
At #47, we find Infinite Waters, which makes it one of Read free.ly’s Best 50 Indie Books of 2015! This leaves me thrilled, as it is the first award my short stories have won in a while.
A massive thank-you hug to everyone who nominated and voted for my work! You really are the best 🙂
Well deserved 🙂 Bravo!
Thank you! 🙂
That’s amazing!! And well deserved!! Congrats!
Thank you. It’s just a question of time before you start posting your own awards, of course 🙂
Congrats & Best Wishes!
Thank you so much, Bette! Especially for being such a wonderful friend in 2015 🙂
Well deserved. Here’s wishing you lots of happy sales!
Thank you so much, Paula! You too 🙂
Well deserved, and congrats my friend! 🙂
Thank you so much, Debbie! It’s all thanks to the wonderful people like you who shared and voted 🙂
No thanks required. Well deserved, and that’s what everyone should be doing to support good talent! 🙂
Aw, you! *blush* 🙂
😀
Congratulations, Nicholas! 2016 begins with a bang for you. Happiness all around for the Rossis 3…dog & cat too! Chryssa
Thank you so much, Chryssa! Couldn’t have done it without your votes and shares 🙂
Yay! Way to start the new year. Congratulations, Nicholas.
Thank you so much! It was a rather pleasant surprise – and one I owe to you and everyone who shared and voted 🙂
Wow. Congratulations, Nicholas! What an achievement. Make sure you bask in the glory and get pampered a little. 😀
Lol – I’m afraid our days are now spent pampering Her Majesty. I’ll have Electra pat me on the back, though. She has plenty of practice doing that to Her Majesty.
Ha ha ha. I anticipated your reply. Yes, have Electra give you a quick pat, then back to Her Majesty!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Michelle! You should enter Imminent Danger; as far as I’m concerned, it’s actually better than my writing 🙂
Well, that’s just not true! You’re a phenomenal writer 🙂 And our books have such different styles and themes that they’d be wicked tricky to compare.
Aw, you, thanks! But don’t be so modest. You’re a pretty awesome writer yourself 🙂
A fantastic start to the year for you. Hearty congratulations are in order!
Thank you so much, Sarah! 😀
Wow! Congratulations, Nicholas! Great way to kick off 2016! Happy New Year! 🙂
Thank you so much! To you too 🙂
Nicholas – Huge congrats. You’ve had a great year and are ascending like a comet (except no burn out!)
Lol – thank you so much! As I am terribly impatient by nature (even if I hide it well), to me it feels like I’m moving at an arthritic snail pace. One that’s standing on a limping turtle, actually. On a glacier.
Well done, and good to know that my votes might have helped too. (Very different to the General Election!)
Best wishes, Pete.
Lol – indeed, very different! And yes, of course they helped! It’s all thanks to lovely people such as yourself who shared and voted for me 🙂
Congratulations, Nicholas. What a great way to begin 2016! 🙂 — Suzanne
Thank you so much, Suzanne! It’s all thanks to lovely people such as yourself who shared and voted for me 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS Nicholas – Great start to 2016 for you 😀
Thank you so much, Chris! I owe it all to kind souls like you who shared and voted 🙂
Congrats! Definitely a nice opening to the new year.
Thanks! Yes, not too bad 🙂
Sigh!
You saw my bank statement, didn’t you?
You are like a writing legend now. Will savour your comments on my blog from now on 🙂
I can see the movie trailer now:
“Nicholas. The man. The legend. The irreverent silliness.”
Aren’t writing legends supposed to spend a lifetime in poverty, then become insanely popular like 5′ after their death? Which is great news for the wee one, of course.
I think I might print out and frame your comments on my blog going forward 🙂
Before you do that, make sure you send me a copy, so I can sign them and send them back. Then, you can sell them on eBay and get rich enough to buy a brand new Rolls. You can keep it in your study drawer.
I’m absolutely delighted for you Nicholas. A great way to start the New Year.
Hugs
Kind as always, David. Thank you!
Hugs 🙂
Congrats Nicholas – that’s such good news 😀
Thanks! Now, if I can only translate that into sales… 😀
Yep, that’s always going to be a bit of a hurdle for authors – just how do you get people to buy your books? There’s probably no easy answer there and likely it will be a combination of things – reviews, price and whether or not people are interested in the book in the first place. All the best and I hope more folk will buy your books – I personally think they’re very good 😀
Thank you so much! As I was just telling Lucy, I’ll probably spend a lifetime not making a dime, than become Harry-Potter-like popular 5′ after I die. Which is great news for the kid, of course.
Your book, Infinite Waters, deserves to be nominated as one of the best.
Aw, you! Thank you so much 😀
